About this desk

Finance is one of the company desks for the Calabro toolchain. It holds the cash and runway model, the monthly close checklist, the variance note, and the board pack.

We write in the institutional "we" because these are company documents rather than personal notes, and because the method in them should outlive whoever is running the close. As of the review date at the top of every page, that "we" is one person: Bryan J. Calabro.

The rule

Every number on this desk traces to a fact id in company/product-facts.md in the calabrodesign repository, or to arithmetic on one that is written down. Where that file marks a fact open, this desk says open rather than filling it in. The longer argument for that is no numbers without provenance.

How it is built

A static site. Content is markdown in content/, rendered at build time by a script in this repository with no dependencies, and served as plain HTML. There is no client-side framework and no runtime data fetching. The only JavaScript that reaches a visitor sets the copyright year and runs the theme toggle.

Every page carries a version and a review date. The version is this repository's package.json version, so a published document and the build that served it cannot drift apart, and the footer shows the same number.

What this desk is not

It is not a dashboard. There are no screenshots of charts with no model behind them, which is the standard way a finance page manages to say nothing at length. Where a figure exists, the method that produced it is on the model. Where a figure does not exist, the slot says so.

It is not accounting, and it is not advice. It is the method and the record.
